Let us not reject the gospel, lest it will one day reject us
"I remind you, brethren, of the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and in which you have been established,
By which you are saved, if you keep what is taught as I have preached to you, unless you believe in vain" (1 Cor. 15:1-2).
The balanced gospel represents the entire spectrum of our being, forming a full and blessed life not only on earth, but also on the territory of the Kingdom of God. This is why our gospel should present a comprehensive and complete, balanced picture of life to a person. There should be no extremes and distortions.
The sound teaching of the Church is a combination of the most important life and practical spheres.
This passage highlights five facets of our relationship to the gospel. Don't joke or be familiar with him. The gospel is inextricably linked with its main Character. Therefore, our attitude to the gospel is our attitude to the Lord Jesus Christ.
What is worth only one expression of the Apostle Paul: "I Remind you, brethren, of the gospel... by which you are saved." The question inevitably arises, so who saves us, Christ or the gospel? The question is actually to the point.
Ignoring the fundamental principles of the gospel, many today trump their personal relationship with Jesus. "What does the teaching and commandments have to do with it? We are not under the law, but under grace." Religious speculation, there's no other word for it. There is no Christ without the gospel, just as there is no gospel without Christ. Christ is the gospel, and the gospel is Christ.
"Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me" (Jn. 5:39).
The attempt to separate the gospel from Christ is not just the deceit or self-deception of the saved. This is a fatal mistake and spiritual suicide of born-again Christians. What could be more tragic in the process of saving the saved than the loss of one's own salvation. Let us not reject the gospel, lest it one day reject us.
The gospel is a guarantee of salvation, but under certain conditions:
First, you have heard and accepted it.
Secondly, it is important to take root and establish yourself in it.
And only third, after the above, can we complete the process of our salvation.
Fourth, if we expect to complete this process, the gospel must not be simplified or complicated.
And fifth, be careful not to become a critic of the gospel and experience the tragic experience of futile faith. And this means losing your salvation.
This is what the balanced, fundamental, sobering gospel tells us today.
