Concerned people

We live in a time when the world is changing rapidly. When the decisions of a government in quarantine change by leaps and bounds. When statistics on the stock exchanges and in the field of health care deprive many of sleep.

There are those who submit, consciously and unconsciously, to orders that are considered and intermediate.
And what else would you expect, faith is from hearing... Nothing has changed since then. Disinformation and speculation have not been canceled. Manipulation of public consciousness remains the main ideological weapon of those in power. There is nothing new under the sun.

But still there are those people who go against the tide.

“But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying:
‘We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not lament.’  (Matthew 11:16-17).

Yes, it is to them that official claims are made. Why don't you dance to our flute with the rest of us? Why don't you tremble with fear and weep? Why? Yes, because they are not a herd of sheep and not part of the crowd, which is subject to mass training.

Yes, there is a completely different category of people besides those who meekly submit to the existing authorities. They are not going to dance to this conductor's baton. These people are irritated by that music. They have their own opinions and their own vision of the future.

As fate would have it, these are the people I've met recently. Everyone was there.

A real kaleidoscope.

And now, the cardinal of the Latvian Catholic Church is Janis Pujats. A person who is not indifferent has invited the same people who are not indifferent to him. And here we are at his house. Cozy apartment in Old Riga.

We have a lot in common. One of the most radical priests who came out in his time in defense of the family.

Since then, a long time has passed, and trouble is knocking at our doors again. We are together again.
Of course, so much depends on what decisions the churches make in such a difficult time. How much will depend on the clearly stated position of the Christian community. This was the theme of our meeting.

By the way, the cardinal turns 90 this year. I was in shock.

At this age, to be a sane, logical, caring person who is passionate for his people... and no hint of sclerosis or senile dementia, you know...

This is a huge rarity these days. Well, Mr. Cardinal, happy birthday to you!!!

Good health to you, and May God grant you the ability to complete your mission!!!!
